GIRO D’ITALIA 2012: WILIER TRIESTINA ZERO7 ONE OF THE PROTAGONISTS WITH SCARPONI & CUNEGO

It’s one year old. It has debuted at 95th Giro d’ Italia. It has been protagonist immediatly. We are talking about the Wilier Triestina Zero7, the youngest model among the jewels of the house of Rossano Veneto with its monocoque carbon frame (weighs less than 800 grams) and behind his elegant and attractive livery lies a wealth of leading edge technologies.

The challenge was to build a Wilier Triestina lighter than any before, and without in any way diminishing the strength and stability of the frame. From this challenge is born this masterpiece that brought to the forefront of the recent Giro Michele Scarponi (4 °)and Damiano Cunego (6 °).

A result below the expectations from individual point of view but, however, the Wilier Triestina bikes conquest the Fast Team standings (dedicated to the team that have performed best overall time in the final standings for the Maglia Rosa)
This has allowed the Team Lampre-ISD to rise on the 8th place (it was 15th) in the UCI Pro Tour standings.
An important result gain a top position to aspire the keeping of the license for UCI World Tour.
