Continuing Wilier’s significant investment in development and promotion through competitive cycling, Wilier Triestina and Wilier Triestina USA are proud to announce two new signings in the US: Team Exergy, and Vanderkitten.

Angelo Cilli, President of Wilier USA describes the decision to sponsor these two teams: “Clearly, it has been a tumultuous year for the sport of cycling, however, at Wilier, we wanted to send a clear message: the sport is beautiful; it is comprised primarily of good, hard working people; and we will continue to support and learn from competitive cycling at the highest levels on a global basis. Working with Team Exergy and Team Vanderkitten in addition to our recently announced commitment to Team Colombia is our way of showing that commitment to the sport. It also evidences Wilier’s growing, global promotional efforts, which complement the company’s increasingly global business and growing sales.”

Team Exergy will return to the UCI Continental ranks for their third straight year in 2013. Wilier are glad to partner with Escalera Racing and Team Exergy, and look forward to another standout season from the squad, which is returning many of its riders from 2012, while also bringing in new talent. Exergy team Manager Remi McManus cited Wilier’s commitment to technological advancement as a key factor in the partnership: “Wilier’s history and commitment to racing are well known, but I think their commitment to advancing technology has never been more evident than in the last few years. The innovation that they have brought to market with SEI film, BB386EVO and the aerodynamic features of the Twin Blade and Blade are industry leading and will be a distinct advantage for the team in 2013.”

Vanderkitten posted over a dozen wins in the 2012 season. Beyond the results, Wilier chose to partner with Vanderkitten because of their mission: Since 2005, Vanderkitten has been committed to spreading awareness of women excelling, battling the odds and achieving. From Cycling to Dance, movement has become the hallmark of the change we promote. Vanderkitten has evolved into an organization dedicated to increasing the visibility of successful women and inspiring women by sharing those stories. Wilier Triestina are proud to be part of that, and to support women’s racing. The 2013 Venderkitten sponsorship also shows team rider Kate Chilcott reconnecting with Wilier after stints aboard the Cento1 with the Kiwi Velo and New Zealand National team programs.
